Applications
CLIMAPLUS premium wall system
What do we need?
Roller, trowel, brush, sponge, notched and stainless-steel finishing trowel, drill.
STEP 1
Surface Preparation: Clean the surface to remove dust, oils, grease and other contaminants. Remove foreign materials and loose or unsound elements, and level the substrate as necessary to ensure proper surface preparation.
STEP 2
Adhesive / Installation of Thermal Insulation Board: For the installation of thermal insulation boards in External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems (ETICS), apply the cement-based adhesive CLIMABOND THC 403. The product is applied manually using a notched or smooth trowel, or mechanically, depending on the project requirements and substrate type. It is evenly distributed over the surface of the thermal insulation boards, creating a strong and stable bonding layer that ensures excellent adhesion of the insulation material.
The product has a working time of approximately 1.5 hours, while the open time is approximately 15 minutes after application.
STEP 3
Mechanical Fixings: ETICS mechanical fixings are used as mechanical fastening elements for the thermal insulation boards, complementing and reinforcing the adhesive bond. Drill holes through the insulation and into the substrate using a suitable drill. Then install the fixings and hammer or screw them until they are fully anchored into the substrate, ensuring secure mechanical support.
The fixings must be installed according to the specified fixing pattern and positioned flush with the surface of the insulation boards, without protrusions, to ensure uniformity of the subsequent base coat.
STEP 4
Base Coat Application: After 24 hours, apply FIBERPLUS THC 405 as the reinforced base coat in External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems (ETICS), using a smooth or notched trowel, as appropriate.
Apply a uniform mortar layer approximately 2–4 mm thick over the surface of the thermal insulation boards. The product has a working time of approximately 1.5 hours and an open time of approximately 15 minutes. Application should be carried out at temperatures between +5°C and +35°C and avoided under frost, high humidity or strong solar radiation conditions.
STEP 5
Reinforcement: Embed the glass-fibre reinforcement mesh into the first layer of FIBERPLUS THC 405 while the material is still fresh. Press the mesh into the mortar using a stainless-steel finishing trowel until it is fully embedded.
The mesh must be completely covered by the mortar and must not remain exposed at the surface. Adjacent mesh sheets shall overlap by 10 cm to ensure continuity and uniform reinforcement.
After the mesh has been fully embedded and the surface has been levelled, apply the second thin layer of mortar.
STEP 6
Base Coat Application: After embedding the glass-fibre reinforcement mesh into the first layer of FIBERPLUS THC 405, apply a second thin layer of the material to completely cover the mesh, eliminate surface irregularities and create a uniform, smooth and reinforced surface ready for the final decorative render.
The second layer is applied with a stainless-steel finishing trowel at a thickness of approximately 0.5–2 mm, depending on the flatness of the substrate, ensuring complete encapsulation of the reinforcement and improving mechanical resistance.
STEP 7
Primer Application: Apply CLIMA PRIMER GLX 494 as a preparation primer before the application of the final decorative renders. Mix the product thoroughly and, depending on substrate conditions, dilute with clean water by up to 25%. Apply by roller or spray in one uniform coat to stabilize the substrate and homogenize its absorbency. On highly absorbent surfaces or under high-temperature conditions, a second coat may be applied to achieve improved coverage and uniformity. Application should be carried out at temperatures between +5°C and +35°C, on a dry substrate with moisture content up to 12%. Drying time is approximately 24 hours before application of the decorative renders or paints.
STEP 8
Final Decorative Render: Apply CLIMA PLASTER DEC 428 as the final decorative layer in External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems (ETICS).
Mix thoroughly before use and apply with a stainless-steel finishing trowel in a uniform layer. Then form the final texture (Scratch, Rillen or Fine) using a plastic trowel while the material is still fresh to achieve the desired decorative finish. The application thickness depends on the grain size and texture type and is indicatively approximately 1.0–3.5 mm. Application should be carried out at temperatures between +5°C and +25°C, avoiding direct solar radiation, rain and strong winds. Under high-temperature conditions, workability may be adjusted slightly by adding a small amount of water, in accordance with the product instructions.
Drying time depends on environmental conditions and is approximately 24 hours, while full curing develops gradually over the following days.
