Waterproofing against rising damp

What do we need?

The rising damp due to groundwater or surface waters in soil affect the construction of the foundations through the capillaries of the materials creating major problems such as dissolution and disintegration of construction materials, formation of rashes, cracks and breakages even chemical corrosion and oxidation.

How do we do it?

Perfect protection against the rising damp is  DSF 350 FLEX an elastic, 2-component brushable mortar which create a watertight joint between plate and wall and a peripheral sealing zone between the ground and the wall at a height of 30-40 cm.

Step by step

  • Clean the contact surface of the masonry from foreign materials and lumps and wetted. Then apply two layers  DSF 350 FLEX crosswise in width same as masonry and start building stones with  building mud.
  • After completion of the wall before the plastering, create a sealing zone on the outer walls in height of 30-40 cm from the ground again by applying two layers of DSF 350 FLEX crosswise.
  • Along the connection of masonry with the floor it is recommended to reinforce the waterproofing membrane with elastic fiberglass tape  KF 12/7 or by elastic polyester fabric tape F 12/7, width 12cm.
  • The placement is done in the following way: apply a layer of DSF 350 FLEX, width 15 – 17 cm along the points in need of aid and place the film layer while is still damp. Two more layers follow each after drying the previous one.
  • Next day the masonry can be plastered as normal.
